Description
: As mentioned in the introductory video at the outset of the course, all students will be asked to create their own original comic book concerning cancer. Grading for this assignment will not be based on artistic skill or any mastery of the comics form; instead, students will be evaluated in terms of meeting the stated expectations of the project’s process (including the finalization and submission of the work, of course).
This comic can be any of the following options:
- A full explanation and exploration of your Theory Work, expanded and further detailed from your mid-semester assignment,
- A chronicle of your process, thinking, and development over the course of this class,
- A comic adaptation of a significant section from The Emperor of All Maladies, or
- A personal account of cancer in your life and the lives of your friends and family.
